Harry Potter and The Order of the Phoenix
First UK Edition, First Printing, Bloomsbury 2003, Hardcover, Signed by J.K. Rowling, Fine Condition
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is offered here as a First UK Edition, First Printing, published by Bloomsbury in 2003 in hardcover and signed by J.K. Rowling. This title is widely regarded as the most difficult first UK trade edition in the Harry Potter series to find authentically signed by Rowling. While copies bearing Rowling-signed bookplates from the 1999–2003 period are occasionally encountered, examples signed directly into the book are exceptionally rare.
This copy is signed in blue ball point pen to the half title page. Rowling didn’t conduct any public signing events for the release of the book, however copies were signed and sent out from Rowlings office as singular books or as apart of box sets to support causes chosen by her charitable trust. This copy was originally sent out as part of a box set of books all signed by Rowling.
The book is in fine condition with a square, tight binding and no colour fading to the boards or dust jacket. There are tiny creases to a couple of the corners but aside from this the book is in near pristine condition with exceptionally white, crisp page edges that show no evidence of spotting to toning. Internally, it is immaculate, with no unwanted marks, ownership inscriptions or dog eared pages. The dust jacket is correctly priced at £16.99, not price-clipped, and protected in a removable Brodart archival cover.
The book is fully authenticated by Adam Houston, widely recognised as the world’s leading authority on J.K. Rowling signatures. It includes a complete authentication package and is housed in a custom quarter-leather clamshell box with gold gilt spine lettering, handcrafted specifically for this volume.
Signed first UK trade editions of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix are among the rarest and most sought-afterin the Harry Potter canon. Fully authenticated, preserved to a high standard, and supported by unimpeachable provenance, this copy represents a museum-quality collectible within the modern rare book market.
