Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone & Chamber of Secrets

First UK Edition Paperbacks, 26th & 6th Printings Signed and Inscribed by J.K. Rowling, Pristine Condition

Presented here are two signed and inscribed first UK edition paperback, later printings of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (26th print) and Chamber of Secrets (6th print). Both books are inscribed to the same recipient, Ben. The philosopher’s stone is inscribed “To Ben, I hear you like Harry a lot, which makes me like you very much indeed” and signed by Rowling beneath. Chamber of Secrets is inscribed “to Ben (again!) with best wishes” and also signed beneath. According to the original recipient, Ben, the books were signed after his father obtained them through a friend whose partner was personally acquainted with J.K. Rowling. The two books have remained together since they were originally signed.

Both of these copies are as close to pristine condition as you will ever see for a paperback. They are completely unread, with a tight and square binding and no bowing to the front cover. The page edges are a crisp, bring white and there is no fading to the spine, which is very rare for these early paperbacks. Internally there are no ownership inscriptions, unwanted marks or writing of any kind and there are no dog eared pages, folds or creases. These books have clearly been very well looked after for more than 25 years, most likely in an air tight container, locked away out of sunlight as they appear as good as the day they were signed.

The signatures and inscriptions in these books come fully authenticated by Adam Houston ‘The Harry Potter Specialist’ the world’s leading expert in authenticating Jo’s signature. They come with a full authentication package including a letter of authenticity and a collector card for each book.
