Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone & Chamber of Secrets

First UK Edition Paperbacks, 23rd & 1st Printings Signed and Inscribed by J.K. Rowling with Provenance

Presented here are two signed and inscribed first UK edition paperback of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (23rd print) and Chamber of Secrets (1st print). Both books are inscribed in green ink to Summer and were signed during Rowling’s visit to Bellsquarry Primary School, Livingston, Scotland. The philosopher’s stone is inscribed “To Summer, (what a great name!)” and signed by Rowling beneath. Chamber of Secrets is inscribed “to Summer (again!)” and also signed beneath. The two books have remained together since they were originally signed and are accompanied by a contemporary newspaper cutting documenting Rowling’s visit and an original photograph of Summer with J.K. Rowling at the school.

Both books appear unread in near fine condition with a tight and square binding. There is very little toning to the page edges and no bowing at all to the front or back covers, but there is the slightest touch of fading and mild creasing to the spines. There is one ownership inscription (Summer) to Philosopher’s Stone, no dog eared pages, tears or creases to either book internally but there is some clear spotting to the preliminary pages. Overall, a beautifully bright set presented with fantastic provenance throughout. The added distinction of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets being a first printing further enhances the set’s desirability, setting it apart from other examples on the market and making it a highly sought-after collectible.

The signatures and inscriptions in these books come fully authenticated by Adam Houston ‘The Harry Potter Specialist’ the world’s leading expert in authenticating Jo’s signature. They come with a full authentication package including a letter of authenticity, a collector card for each book, newspaper cutting and original photograph.
