Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
First US Edition, First Printing, Scholastic 1999, Hardback, Signed by J.K. Rowling with Provenance
This particular copy was signed in black ball point pen during Rowling’s second American tour in October 1999 to promote the release of the book. This book was bought directly from the original owner Erol who was kind enough to provide a letter detailing his experience of the signing event. It appears this particular book was signed at Oxford Books in Atlanta. Erol explains how the organisers were very strict and only allowed one book to be signed per person and how J.K. Rowling was signing books like a robot, incredibly quickly without engaging with fans in order to meet the demand.
The book and dust jacket are in fine condition with no fading at all, the pages are clean with no inscriptions or marks of any kind. The book is unread, the boards are square with sharp corners with no foxing to the text block at all. Some very minor bruising to the spine base otherwise a pristine copy. It comes housed in a purple clamshell box made purposely for this book, with the title and author’s name printed in gold leaf to the spine.
The signature comes fully authenticated by Adam Houston ‘theHarryPotterspecialist’ the world’s leading expert in authenticating Jo’s signature. It comes with a full authentication package including a letter of authenticity and collector card.
