This is a signed first UK edition, first printing (2021) of The Christmas Pig by J.K. Rowling. J.K. Rowling signed loose leaves in advance to be bound into finished copies for promotional use on release for bookshops. Waterstones are known to have received a handful but the total number produced is unknown, and they are significantly scarcer than the 700 copies signed in person at the Alexandra Palace launch event. The inserted leaf, printed with the author’s name, title of the book, illustrator credit and pig vignette, is signed in black ballpoint pen with the official Rowling hologram affixed to the verso of the front free endpaper.

The book itself is unread, with a square and tight binding and no colour fading at all to the book or dust jacket. Aside from some minor bumping to the spine tip and base, both the book and dust jacket are in fine condition. Internally, the book has fresh white pages, no unwanted marks, no dog-eared pages, no ownership inscriptions and no foxing of any kind. The book comes housed in a bespoke red clamshell box custom made for this book with gold gilt lettering to the leather spine.

The signature comes fully authenticated by Adam Houston, known as The Harry Potter Specialist, widely regarded as the world’s leading expert in authenticating J.K. Rowling’s signature. It comes with a full authentication package including a letter of authenticity and collector card.

The Christmas Pig is J.K. Rowling’s 2021 children’s novel, published by Bloomsbury, and signed first UK editions such as this are increasingly sought after by collectors.
