Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone
First Edition, Bloomsbury, Hardcover, Cast Signed by Harry, Ron and Hermione, Fine Condition
Presented here is an exceptional hardcover first edition, 24th printing of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, personally signed to the half-title page by the three young stars who would become known worldwide as the “Golden Trio”: Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter), Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley), and Emma Watson (Hermione Granger).
These are very early signature examples similar to those obtained during the production of the very first Harry Potter film, when Daniel was just 11 years old, Emma 10, and Rupert 12. Autographs from this pivotal period are among the most desirable in the Harry Potter collecting world, capturing the actors at the very beginning of what would become one of the most successful film franchises in history. Daniel Radcliffe’s youthful signature is particularly noteworthy; his well-documented struggles with handwriting at this age resulted in a more childlike autograph, a characteristic that further supports the authenticity and historical significance of the inscription. Copies bearing only the signatures of the Golden Trio are especially coveted by collectors and consistently command greater interest than examples featuring larger casts.
Both the book and its original dust jacket are presented in fine condition. The book is unread with a tight binding, square boards, and sharp corners. Internally, the pages are clean, free from ownership inscriptions, creases, or marks of any kind. The dust jacket remains unclipped, unfaded, and is protected in a removable archival Brodart cover. Aside from the faintest hint of age-toning to the page edges, the book is pristine.
This book survives today as a remarkable piece of Harry Potter history—housed in a bespoke red cloth clamshell case, elegantly finished with gold gilt lettering to the spine.
In a marketplace increasingly saturated with questionable and forged Harry Potter autographs, the authenticity of these signatures is assured. Each autograph is consistent with known examples executed by Radcliffe, Grint, and Watson during the production period of the first film.
