Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone
First UK Deluxe Edition, First Printing, Hardcover, Signed by J.K. Rowling, Fine Condition
This is an authentic J. K. Rowling signature in a first printing deluxe edition of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. Signed copies of the first deluxe edition are particularly rare. During Rowling’s visit to Canada in October 2000, she is known to have signed and presented a small number of deluxe edition copies from the first four books in the series. These were not signed at a public event, but were instead given to hotel staff and booksellers who had assisted with promotion and the sale of Harry Potter books in Canada. Many of these books were later printings which makes a first printing copy even more scarce.
The book itself is bright, clean and unread, with no internal markings, ownership inscriptions, dog-eared pages or notable defects. Overall, the book presents in fine condition with just a minor bump to the base of the spine. It is a particularly attractive example for any collector looking to purchase a more affordable first printing of the first UK book.
The volume is fully authenticated by Adam Houston, widely regarded as the leading authority on authenticating Rowling’s signatures, and is accompanied by a complete authentication package including a letter of authenticity and collector card.
