Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
First UK Edition, First Printing, Bloomsbury 2000, Hardcover, Signed and inscribed by J.K. Rowling ‘To Hamish’
The book presented here is a first edition, first printing of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire signed and inscribed ‘To Hamish – not bored yet?!’ Hamish was the son of J.K. Rowling’s neighbour when she was living in Abbotsford Park, Edinburgh. The signature is a 2000 variation of Rowling’s signature which she signed when Hamish was eight years old. He kept the books for 24 years before deciding to sell them in 2024. Inscribed copies of the first UK edition of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire are particularly uncommon and are extremely hard to find. The command a premium as the majority of copies were simply flat signed as part of J.K. Rowling’s Hogwarts Express book tour in 2000.
This particular copy is in near fine condition which appears unread with some bumping to the top and bottom of the spine and some minor soiling to the very top right edge of the preliminary pages and a few of the rear pages. The top and bottom of the pages edges and the fore-edge are surprisingly white, these are almost always toned to a yellow/brown colour but not in this case. Internally, there are no ownership inscriptions, stamps, tears or dog eared pages. The dust jacket is in fine condition with no creases and no colour fading at all. Overall this book is in very good condition with a near pristine dust jacket.
The signature comes fully authenticated by Adam Houston ‘theharrypotterspecialist’ the world’s leading expert in authenticating Jo’s signature. This set comes with a full authentication package including a letter of authenticity, collector card and outstanding provenance. Included is a blue quarter leather clamshell box with gold gilt lettering to the spine.
A superb and very rare inscribed copy of the fourth book in the series.
