Harry Potter Urdu Translation Set

First Editions of Books 1-4, Oxford University Press

The Urdu translations of Harry Potter are considered some of the rarest and most difficult translations to find. According to Peter Kenneth ‘thePotterCollector’ in his YouTube video from 2019 titled ‘Rare Harry Potter book translations from around the world,’ books 3&4 are listed with book 4 Goblet of Fire considered one of the hardest none book 1 translations to find alongside the Malayalam Chamber of Secrets among collectors.

Published by Oxford University Press, only books 1-4 were ever published with book 3 only published in hardcover and book 4 only published in softcover. The set contains two softcover books and two hardcover books.

These copies have been carefully read and they have all of their pages present and in tact, there is some clear shelf wear to the books along with some scuffing at some of the corners and some bruising at the spine tips. Overall the set is in good condition with no colour fading at all. Internally, the books are surprisingly clean with white pages and no ownership inscriptions or scribbles. Very rare for this particular set of translations. There is however a tiny puncture hole in the spines of both the Chamber of Secrets and the Prisoner of Azkaban, suspected to have happened at customs during its journey from Pakistan to the UK.

The majority of the value of this set comes from book 4, Goblet of Fire. This is an exceptionally rare book. The condition is very good, it has a square and tight binding, minor shelf wear externally but has some slight pen marking to the bottom edge. Internally, the book is pretty clean, it has some marginal toning and a small neat price of 1500 to the corner of a page but overall its better than you’d expect.

A rare full set of Urdu books in better than the average condition for these titles.
