On Tuesday October 12th 2021, J.K. Rowling appeared at the Alexandra Palace Theatre, London, following a family event for the release of the book. Following a reading, Q&A session and a drawing class with the illustrator Jim Field, Jo signed a limited number of copies of the book for members of the audience in her first scheduled signing event in nine years – her only one for The Christmas Pig. Copies of the book signed on the release date at this event are very scarce, there were reportedly 700 people in attendance. The copy of the book presented here is a true first English edition accompanied by the J.K. Rowling hologram and is one of the copies signed that evening. The book is also accompanied by some of the original ephemera which was given out to attendees on the evening of the event – stickers and a bookmark.
The book is in excellent condition, it is unread, with a square and tight binding and no colour fading at all to the book or dust jacket. Aside from some minor bumping to the spine tip and base, both the book and dust jacket are in fine condition. Internally, the book is pristine, with fresh white pages, no marks, tears, ownership inscriptions or foxing of any kind.
