Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone

First UK Edition, 20th Printing Paperback, Bloomsbury, Signed by J.K. Rowling, Fine

The copy is a first English paperback edition, 20th printing of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. It was signed to the dedication page in black ballpoint pen by J.K. Rowling at the Edinburgh Book Festival in 1999. This was Rowling;’s first appearance at the festival. The book presented here was originally owned by a young girl who had it signed at the Festival and eventually sold it 25 years later in June 2024.

This is a beautiful copy in fine condition, completely unread, with a tight and square binding and no bowing to the front cover, which is quite rare with these paperback copies. The page edges have hardly any toning which is also very rare and there is no colour fading to the book at all. There is some very minor shelf wear to the corners as to be expected and some wear to the base of the spine as shown. Internally there are no ownership inscriptions, marks or writing of any kind with no dog eared pages, folds or creases to any of the pages. This book has clearly been very well looked after housed in its custom made quarter leather clamshell box with bespoke gold lettering to the spine.

The signature and inscription come fully authenticated by Adam Houston ‘theharrypotterspecialist’ the world’s leading expert in authenticating Jo’s signature. It comes with a full authentication package including a letter of authenticity and collector card.
