Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone

First UK Edition, 27th Printing Paperback, Bloomsbury, Signed by J.K. Rowling

This copy is a first English paperback edition, 27th printing of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. It was signed to the dedication page in blue ballpoint pen. This is an early-1999 variation of Rowling’s signature. At this time Rowling was signing books to promote the release of the first paperback edition of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and fans often brought their copies of Philosopher’s Stone to also be signed. This book was first recorded sold at Trevanion Auctioneers & Valuers, Whitchurch on 28th July 2021. Early signed reprints of Philosopher’s Stone are highly collectible books.

This is a beautiful copy, completely unread, with a tight and square binding and no bowing to the front cover, which is quite rare with these paperback copies. The page edges have hardly any toning which is also very rare and there is no colour fading to the book at all. In fine condition except for some very minor shelf wear to the corners as to be expected and some tiny indentations to the rear wrapper behind the young wizard’s head as shown. Internally there are no ownership inscriptions, marks or writing of any kind with no dog eared pages, folds or creases to any of the pages. This book has clearly been very well looked after housed in its custom made quarter leather clamshell box with bespoke gold lettering to the spine.

The signature and inscription come fully authenticated by Adam Houston ‘theharrypotterspecialist’ the world’s leading expert in authenticating Jo’s signature. It comes with a full authentication package including a letter of authenticity and collector card.
