This is the first and only complete collection of Harry Potter translations to ever hit the open market. This collection took years to put together and is believed to be one of approximately 10 complete sets in the world.

The 15 highlighted books are what I believe to be the most valuable books to purchase individually. The ‘big6’ books, a term coined by Peter Kenneth ‘the potter collector’ comprises of Asturian, Greenlandic, Gujarati, Macedonian, Malayalam and Nepali. These books along with the first printing, first state Italian (no glasses) are by far the most expensive all worth in the thousands of pounds each.

The next tier down in terms of value would be the 4 books that are exceptionally rare because they are the first state/ first prints, but as a translation, the newer editions are easy to acquire which would suffice for most collectors. These are the first states of Catalan, Czech, Hungarian and Icelandic.

The other 4 books highlighted are also what I believe to be the hardest to find and would still command a price tag of hundreds of pounds each. They are Khmer, original Mongolian, Tibetan, Urdu. Afrikaans and Filipino should also receive honourable mentions.

Other things to note, which serious collectors may care about is the pre movie ‘Harry Potter’ font as opposed to the post movie variation you’ll find for those translations published after the first movie was released. There are only 19 translations that hit this criteria and this collection has them all.

Along with pre-movie font, serious collectors also look for the original cover art for each translation. For example a lot of the time later editions will use the Jonny duddle artwork rather than the original Mary GrandPre artwork. You can be assured that where possible, this collection has the very first variation of artwork available for each translation.

With regards to condition, the majority of these books are in fine condition. When putting this collection together I would only buy books in near perfect condition. A few are near fine with some scuffing and some shelf wear but none have any major issues to be concerned by.

Overall this is a fantastic set, in great condition, carefully put together over a number of years.
