Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince
First UK Edition, First Printing, Hardback, Bloomsbury 2005, Bookplate Signed by J.K. Rowling, Fine
A book signing took place at Edinburgh Castle at the release of the book in 2005 and was the only scheduled book signing. Instead, special Half Blood Prince bookplates, depicting the fire illustrated on the cover were sent out to help promote the book. The majority of copies signed are signed on this promotional Half Blood Prince bookplate. Newspaper reports suggest they were randomly given out to customers to help promote the book. This is an example of one of the bookplates signed by J.K. Rowling in black ink and is stuck into the book on the front free end paper opposite to the pastedown.
This book and dust jacket are both in beautiful condition. The book is bright and clean, unread with no internal markings or inscriptions of any kind. The binding is tight, and there is no colour fading at all to the book or dust jacket. It is in fine condition aside from very minor bruising to the base of the spine and a small crease to the bottom right edge of the front board. There is little to no visible toning to the text block which is extremely rare and is normally always the case with the UK books. The dust jacket is in fine condition, with no damage, no creases or colour fading at all. All in all it is a fantastic copy housed in a quarter leather blue clamshell box.
This first printing copy comes fully authenticated by Adam Houston ‘theHarryPotterspecialist’ the world’s leading expert in authenticating Jo’s signature. It comes with a full authentication package including a letter of authenticity and collector card.
