Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

Urdu Translation, First Edition, Oxford University Press

The Urdu edition of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is widely regarded as one of the rarest and most elusive international translations in the Harry Potter collecting world. According to Peter Kenneth in his 2019 YouTube video “Rare Harry Potter Book Translations from Around the World,” this title is considered one of the hardest non–Book 1 translations to find.

Published in Pakistan by Oxford University Press, only Books 1–4 were ever released in Urdu. Notably, Book 3 was issued exclusively in hardcover, while Book 4 (Goblet of Fire) was published only in softcover, further contributing to its scarcity and collectibility.

For a Pakistani paperback, this particular copy is in exceptionally well-preserved condition. The binding remains square and tight, and the covers present beautifully with no color fading. There is minor shelf wear to the corners and light rubbing at the spine head and tail, but overall it is among the finest examples available of this notoriously difficult-to-find edition.

Aside from slight marginal toning to the page edges, internally, the book is remarkably clean with no ownership inscriptions, stamps, or marks of any kind — a rarity for foreign-market paperbacks of this era. Collectors would be hard-pressed to find a superior copy of this scarce Urdu translation.
